What is Oflox Eye Drops

Oflox Eye Drops composition includes Ofloxacin, an FDA-approved active ingredient, that functions as a bactericidal agent to treat Bacterial Eye Infection. Uses of Oflox Eye Drop

Ofloxacin's core use is to treat Bacterial Eye Infections, primarily including Bacterial Conjunctivitis (commonly known as Pink Eye, in which eyes turn red/pink due to inflammation of the conjunctiva), Corneal Ulcers (open sores on the cornea), and other infections that impact the eye externally, such as stye, blepharitis, uveitis, and keratitis. 

Some secondary uses include suppressing swelling, pain, inflammation, itching, and redness linked to eye infection. It can also be combined with a steroidal eye drop like Oflox-D (Dexamethasone) to offer symptomatic relief to a user suffering from a bacterial infection.

In case of Corneal Ulcers treatment, during the first two days, 1-2 drops should be instilled every 30 minutes (when awake) and every 4-6 hours after going to bed, which means the user should get up after 4 or 6 hours to instill the drops. From day 7 to 9, 1-2 drops every hour (when awake) and after the 9th day till treatment completion, administer 1-2 drops 4 times a day.

Directions for taking the eye dose:

• Thoroughly wash your hands before using the drops. 

• Tilt your head back before pulling the lower eyelid down.

• Squeeze the dropper and instill the prescribed drops into the affected eye(s).

• Avoid blinking or rubbing and close your eyes. 

• Gentle pressure should be applied to the inner eye for around a minute to help the eye absorb the drop. 

• Keep a gap of 5 minutes if actively using two to three different eye medications.
